5000 Role Models of Excellence Inductee

On Monday, January 19th, 2026, on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Bishop Neil C. Ellis was honored in Miami Beach with the Martin Luther King Jr. Freedom and Justice Award, presented during a regional gathering of more than 3,000 leaders and community stakeholders. Hosted by Congresswoman Frederica Wilson, the event brought together elected officials, civic leaders, and members of the judiciary from across the region.

As the keynote speaker, Bishop Ellis delivered a clear and compelling charge, calling leaders to prioritize stewardship, mentorship, and access as a defining civil right of this generation. In recognition of his leadership and service, he was also presented with five Keys to the City.

That same day, Bishop Ellis was inducted into the 5000 Role Models of Excellence Project National Honors Guild, further affirming his enduring influence in leadership development, community impact, and faith-driven service.
